The Fellow Traveller

I've heard them talking, they say you are through
But I don't listen to them, I still believe in you
BRIDGE AND CHORUS
They wanna put you on the stand
With the books they want to ban
But they just don't understand
That if I go, a thousand will follow
And if I leave yeah, there will be others just like me
And you may say, why won't you stay
There goes the fellow traveller
There goes the fellow traveller
There goes the fellow traveller
On his way
They may try to break us, and scandalise our name
But they will never take us baby, some things never change
BRIDGE AND CHORUS
The world's there for the taking, and I've got open arms
No more time awaiting, we both know a storm

Katrina blew it all away
Believers called it Judgment Day
The looters came and had their way
But what's the point of having guns
When you don't know where your next meal's from?
Oh no it wouldn't happen in Washington
There's always money to be made
Somebody's loss is someone's gain
They waited for the wind to change
But what's the point of your TV
When there's nothing that you wanna see?
On no it wouldn't happen in old DC
While everybody's clinging to the wreckage
You can sell it off in a billion dollar package
Oh no it wouldn't happen in Washington
Milton's got a big idea
Wait for the crisis to appear
Then watch the bubble burst
That's how the system works
Oh no it wouldn't happen in Washington
